Slots Definition Plane
A leading-edge slot is a fixed aerodynamic feature of the wing of some aircraft to reduce the stall speed and promote good low-speed handling qualities. A leading-edge slot is a spanwise gap in each wing, allowing air to flow from below the wing to its upper surface. A theoretically exact point, axis, or plane derived from the true geometric counterpart of a specified datum feature. A datum is the origin from which the location or geometric characteristics of features of a part are established. Slots in ground planes divert the ground current flow(see figure), thereby producing a high ground impedance (Inductance)anda ground plane voltage drop that is the cause of increased emissionsfromthe cables connected to the board. In addition, ground planeslotswill significantly increase the crosstalk between traces thatcrossover them, and the larger loops formed by the return current.
